Robert Hingley appointed director of investment affairs

The Association of British Insurers has appointed Robert Hingley as its Director of Investment Affairs.
Mr Hingley is a former Director General of the Takeover Panel and has 30 years experience of working in the City as an investment banker and lawyer.
Otto Thoresen, ABI Director General said:
“Robert Hingley is a highly respected individual who will bring deep knowledge and experience to the ABI's investment work at this critical time. He has exceptional skills and feel for the markets with which ABI members interact together with a clear understanding of the regulatory challenges in the UK, EU and international arenas.”
Robert Talbut, Chairman of the ABI Investment Committee said:
“Robert has an outstanding reputation and his judgement and proven track record will be of significant benefit to the ABI's members.”
Robert Hingley said:
“The ABI has a key role to play with regards to corporate governance and the relationship between companies and investors, and I look forward to contributing to the the ABI's important work in these and other areas.”
Mr Hingley is expected to take up his position on September 3. He will retain an advisory role with Lazard & Co., Limited providing internal advice on issues related to the application of the Takeover Code and other takeover execution matters.
