New board member for EBLEX
10 April 2012
The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has appointed Andy Foot to the EBLEX board.
Andy, a Dorset beef farmer and chairman of both the NFU regional livestock board and beef group, replaces Adam Quinney who has stepped down after being elected NFU vice president.
He is a fifth generation commercial mixed arable and beef farmer, farming about 650 acres in Dorset, and also local chairman of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnership.
“I’m very much a commercial farmer and am very pleased to be joining the board,” said Andy.
“These are extremely exciting times for the beef and sheep industry. I’m looking forward to working with EBLEX to continue driving the industry forward and improve the profitability and efficiency of the red meat industry.”
EBLEX chairman John Cross said: “Andy is a welcome addition to the EBLEX board and his knowledge and experience in the livestock sector will be invaluable in helping us and the industry meet future challenges. We are sorry to lose Adam, who has made a major contribution to EBLEX’s work and we wish him every success in his new role at the NFU.”
