GMB committeed to assist G4S and other partner organisations to make the games a success and a source of national pride

GMB has been working with the company and others to help our members secure employment after the games as GMB very much want to see a positive employment legacy from the Games
GMB, the union for security staff, issued a press statement on July 12th in response to media calls regarding security at Olympic sites.
Martin Smith, GMB National Organizer, said"GMB, which has 8,000 members working for G4S on the Olympics project, has been committed to assist G4S and other partner organizations to ensure that every effort is made to make the Games a success and a source of national pride.
Contractual issues between G4S and LOCOG are matters for them and GMB are not able to comment on these.
GMB has been working with the company for some time on Olympic project and will continue to work with them and others in the future to help our members secure employment after the games. GMB very much want to see a positive employment legacy from the Games"
