Commenting on the publication of the Migration Advisory Committee report on the Government's immigration cap
Baroness Jo Valentine, Chief Executive of London First said:
“Basing immigration policy on sound evidence is crucial. MAC has recognised that recent policy changes cannot yet be fully assessed, and that reducing the cap further would be foolish. Government must now listen to this advice and hold off of its tens of thousands target until it has both carried out a full economic impact assessment and has proper data on the number of people leaving the UK”
London First also warned against making further changes that that could have damaging consequences for universities.
