Iain Malloch, head of mortgages for Lloyds TSB Scotland, has today been appointed chairman of CML Scotland, succeeding Jim Dunn of the Scottish Building Society.
Mr Malloch's appointment coincides with CML Scotland's annual lunch in Edinburgh where 150 members of the Scottish mortgage market listened to CML director general Paul Smee talk about the future of regulation and the UK mortgage indemnity scheme, NewBuy.
On taking up his appointment, Mr Malloch said:"Despite challenging conditions in the housing market in Scotland, as in the whole of the UK, we are seeing pleasing signs of an improvement for borrowers including the recently announced Scottish mortgage indemnity scheme. I am pleased to be able to lead CML Scotland through the rest of what should be an interesting year for the mortgage industry."
