BHF welcomes decision to put the interests of the nations children first, says BHF

In response to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) decision to ban all HFSS foods from product placement on TV, Peter Hollins Chief Executive of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) said:
"The Government has today put the interests of the nation's children first. The Minister resisted commercial interests and has chosen to protect children from the hidden lure of junk food "product placement" in their favourite TV programmes.
"The Government has accepted that restrictions on children's programming wouldn't go far enough and opted for a full ban. Surely now the next logical step is surely to ban junk food advertising on TV prior to the 9pm watershed."
