We're very welcoming of the secretary of state's announcement on A-levels.
We have always worked closely with universities and they have been telling us that students need to be better prepared.
We agree there is a need for greater breadth and depth in the content of A-levels. The real issue for us is how you ensure progression so that students can thrive in a competitive world. We strongly believe a key part of the solution is to work with the tutors who design the first year of degree courses to ensure that what students learn at A-level prepares them to progress successfully to university.
