APCIMS welcomes SRA's decision on restricted referrals

APCIMS welcomes the decision by the board of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) to facilitate solicitors making referrals to both restricted and independent advisers.
This decision to provide solicitors with the freedom to choose restricted or independent advisers will ensure that the best outcomes for clients are achieved.
Dr Tim May, CEO of APCIMS said: “Given consumers equate independence with a lack of bias and not the new definition related to exhaustive product knowledge which excludes equities and bonds, this shows that common sense can still prevail in important matters of finance”.
