The Dods University Innovators Guide is bringing together the university sector with the political community to promote the research potential of the UK’s universities and identify what more needs to be done to harness the strengths of our research base to help grow and rebalance the economy.
The Wilson review into university-business collaboration is the latest Government commissioned study into what more can be done to make the UK a world leader in this field, setting out a number of steps to tackle the issue of graduate employability, whether by encouraging the take up of sandwich courses or promoting internships and business-funded students. The review’s focus is very much equally on the wider role that universities can play in improving the UK’s future economic competitiveness.
The Dods University Innovators Guide is exploring the practical steps that higher education, industry and policy must take to make university business collaboration a reality. #
Analysis and findings from the programme will be produced in a practical guide to business-university collaboration to be published in January 2013 at our exhibition, showcasing examples in research and development, graduate employability, work placements and sandwich courses or knowledge transfer.
