Welcome

Party Conferences 2011 Party Conferences 2011 Party Conferences 2011

The Transport Hub is a group of transport organisations working together to promote the crucial issues affecting the way goods and people move around the world at the heart of party conferences.

In previous years, similar coalitions such as the Health Hotel or the Climate Clinic have been very effective in promoting their sectoral interests and are now accepted brands which are part of the fabric of party conference season. Members believe transport interests should work together in this way, and that we can make the Transport Hub a major player at party conference.

Transport Hub is growing year on year, and we would encourage you to make 2012 the year you join our diverse band of organisations to promote your transport concerns where it matters.

Transport Hub works in a number of ways:

  • The politicians like it: Prominent politicians face a deluge of event invites at conference. By working with Transport Hub, they can ensure the widest coverage of key events in the most time-efficient way. In 2011, for instance, Norman Baker spoke at 5 Transport Hub events and Theresa Villiers at 4.
  • You can dodge clashes: Transport Hub brings together key players in almost every field of transport at party conference. Together we can plan so your event does not clash with others on the same issue.
  • Your bank balance likes it: Transport Hub offers you a fringe event of your own plus participation in communal Hub events across all three main conferences for less than the cost of one fringe event at an individual conference held alone.
  • You can work with a wealth of experience: Transport Hub harnesses the best expertise of all its members, meaning you will be working with people who know really how to make this work.

In 2011, it hosted a series of fringe events on a diverse range of issues at the conferences, and it will be looking reaching still further in 2012. The topics and speakers at these events are driven by the members who retain editorial control for their event. Each conference culminates in a dinner or reception; providing a chance for members to network with an audience of transport professionals, politicians, party figures and friends and a centrepiece debate with a major political figure.

If you are interested in joining Transport Hub or would just like more details then please contact FTA’s Head of Public Affairs Michael Webb on 01892 552297 or mwebb@fta.co.uk.

We hope to see you there.
