The economic situation in the UK remains a great concern to everyone; government, business and the individual. The latest OECD figures suggest we’re back in recession.
At the same time politics is changing. More than ever before the regions are being seen as vital to the future economic prosperity of the UK. From LEPs to High Speed Rail, localism and planning reform, government is focusing on moving decision making away from Westminster and towards the regions.
These unique summits of politicians, businesses, trade bodies and education specialists aims to explore how government and local decision makers can ensure that Yorkshire continues to grow economically. The Regions have a huge amount to contribute in rebalancing the UK economy away from the current reliance on London and the South East and these summits are an opportunity to hear the latest government thinking as well as giving those involved the chance to put forward ideas, suggestions and examples of best practice.
